Damping rod bushings serve two functions, they must seal the rod and act as a bearing surface.
There are two basic types:
1) The first type is a solid material. (FKRB series)
2) The second type is the most common for later models (SMSB series). These use a steel shell plated with bronze with PTFE bonded to the surface like shock shaft bushings. (Sold individually)
